Meet Sage
Sage is the chat assistant in the footer of most pages. It has read this documentation, and it can look up live data from your own market — always scoped to you, always read-only. What it can do depends on who you are, so each audience has its own page.
Your guide
🏪 Market managers
Customers, balances, orders, this week's cycle, sales, growers, memberships, email delivery.
Sage for Managers →🌱 Growers
Your harvest list, sold-out items, sales by period, your buyers, your balance, the market's schedule.
Sage for Growers →🛒 Shoppers
Whether ordering is open, pickup times, what's for sale, your own orders and balance.
Sage for Shoppers →Who sees Sage
- Market managers and admins always have it.
- Growers and signed-in shoppers see it only where their market manager has switched it on — two separate toggles in the Sage Assistant section of the market admin page, both off to start.
- Visitors on this documentation site get a general-purpose Sage that knows how LocallyGrown works but nothing about any account.
Sage hides itself while a manager is acting as another user.
For visitors
On this documentation site, before signing in, you can ask things like:
- "How does LocallyGrown work for shoppers?" and "What does it cost to run a market?"
- "Is there a market near 30601?" — the nearest markets to a ZIP code or town, with their websites.
Sage can't search products across markets — it will point you to the nearest market's site for what's in stock.
What Sage will never do
- Change anything. No orders placed, no emails sent, no settings touched, no balances adjusted.
- Cross a market boundary. Every lookup is scoped by who you are and where you are, never by what you type.
- Invent numbers. Capped lists say so; if no lookup can answer, it says that instead of guessing.
If Sage gets something wrong, the source of truth is this documentation — tell support and the underlying page gets fixed.
