Everything your market actually needs
I ran Athens Locally Grown for 20 years before rebuilding this platform in 2025. Every feature on this page exists because a market I work with needed it, not because it sounded good on a checklist.
The basics, done well
Storefront that's open when you're not
Customers place orders whenever it suits them — at midnight, during a lunch break, from the couch. Your market runs while you sleep.
Payments handled end-to-end
Stripe takes the card, your market's 3% platform fee is metered automatically, and money lands in your account. Pay-at-pickup works too, for markets that prefer it.
Works on whatever device they have
Phone, tablet, laptop, the 2015 iPad at the farm office — if it loads a web page, it runs this. No app download, no install.
Email that actually gets through
Order confirmations, pickup reminders, and weekly updates all send from your market's own domain. Eight ready-made newsletter templates so a weekly post takes minutes, not hours.
Real numbers, visually
An interactive metrics dashboard shows sales trends, top products, customer retention, and year-over-year comparisons. CSV exports for anything you want to slice yourself.
Your market looks like your market
Colors, logos, nav labels, even the FAQ — every market tunes the look and wording to match the community it serves. No generic SaaS feel.
What your growers get
List a product in under a minute
Photo, price, description, quantity available — that's the form. Listings go live the next time the ordering window opens.
Harvest exactly what sold
The harvest report tells a grower how much of each item to bring on pickup day. Pick twelve bunches of carrots because twelve were ordered. Less waste, fresher food.
Vacation mode
Leaving for a week? A single toggle takes all of a grower's products offline and brings them back when they return. No scrambling to hide listings one by one.
Wholesale pricing
Growers can offer a separate wholesale price to approved wholesale customers, while retail shoppers see retail pricing on the same products.
One catalog across multiple markets
A grower who sells at two or three LocallyGrown markets can mirror their product catalog across all of them with a single product code, instead of re-entering everything every week.
Clear finances
Every sale tracked. Tax-time CSV exports of grower checks, orders, and payouts. Nothing hidden behind the platform.
What your customers get
Shopping that actually feels local
Real photos, the grower's name and story, search that works. Customers know exactly who grew what they're about to eat.
Their way, not ours
Build the order over several days, or buy it in two minutes. Save favorites. Reorder last week's cart with one click.
Pickup that fits into a real week
Multiple pickup locations per market, flexible pickup windows, automatic reminder emails the day before. Missed-pickup rates drop noticeably.
Recipes and stories, not just SKUs
Growers post recipes on their products. Markets post a weekly weblog — what's in season, who's new, why it matters. Shopping becomes reading.
What you get as the market manager
Your market, your rules
Set the ordering schedule, the fees, the pickup locations, which payment methods you accept. Every setting is yours. Support is an email away when you want a second opinion.
Automations that actually run while you sleep
Set a weekly schedule once: ordering opens Sunday 6 PM, closes Tuesday midnight, pickup reminders go out Wednesday morning. The system handles it, emails you if anything fails.
Announcements that reach everyone
Post a market-wide message that shows up on every page for customers, growers, and volunteers. Great for weather delays, pickup-location changes, or a late-breaking new arrival.
Insights that answer real questions
Who are your repeat customers? Which growers drive the most revenue? What's your busiest pickup day? The Metrics Dashboard answers all three, plus a week-over-week and year-over-year view.
Market day made easy
Packing lists by grower. Order check-in at pickup. Orders-by-location reports with membership indicators. Volunteer roles with their own panel. Your Wednesday has a runbook.
A market-managed FAQ
Every market has its own public FAQ you control. Answer the questions your shoppers actually ask, in your own voice, without waiting on anyone.
Act as a customer to troubleshoot
When a customer says "my cart is broken," you can step into their account and see exactly what they see — without their password. Every impersonated action is logged to an audit trail you can review, and sensitive things like password changes and payment methods are blocked. Troubleshooting turns into a one-minute call instead of a back-and-forth thread.
Under the hood
Payment data lives at Stripe
Card numbers never touch my database. Stripe handles the PCI side; I handle the market-day side. That's how it should be.
Your data, exportable
Customer lists, orders, products, grower checks, harvest history — every one has a CSV export. If you leave, you take your data.
Someone is watching
Errors go to Sentry. Queue health is monitored. If something breaks at 2 AM on market day, I find out before you do.
Curious about the design and engineering? The public showcase pages document the components, accessibility choices, and layout patterns the site is built on.
