So I built what became the first online farmers market platform. For 20 years, I ran Athens Locally Grown (60 growers, 1,500 customers, $15K/week) while developing this software.
Over 23 years, the platform has processed over $32 million in sales through nearly one million orders for 5,400+ farmers.
But by 2022, technical debt had caught up with me. The platform was slower, harder to maintain. I could have let it die.
