Middle Tennessee Locally Grown:  LATE ADDITION! - Just a Short Time Left to Order!

Manchester Locally Grown Farmers’ Market

How to contact us:

Our Website: manchester.locallygrown.net
On Facebook: Manchester Locally Grown Online Farmers’ Market

Good morning!

Frontier Family Farms has added some “Standard Winter Produce Boxes” and some “Weekly Produce Boxes.” These boxes are listed under “CSA” on the market. They will include a share of what’s available each week on Michael’s farm, and will therefore vary in content from week to week. These boxes will be purchased on a weekly basis, rather than at the start of the season like some of our other CSA’s. They will be a good way to fill your frig and include vegetables in your diet each week. Please note that the “Standard Winter” box will contain a “bonus item” from another farm, which will also vary from week to week. Be sure to check these boxes each week to see what’s new.

Please note: If you already ordered, you may place a second order this evening. The software will total it all together for you.

Don’t forget to place your order on Manchester Locally Grown market. The market will be open until 10 pm this evening. Pickup of your order will be at our tents located outside Manchester Farm Store, 251 Interstate Dr., Manchester. We can also deliver your order to your home on Friday, if it’s more convenient for you. If you prefer to utilize this $4.00 service, please make a note on your order or call my cell at (931) 273-9708.

Remember that we are a year-round market, not subject to seasonal closings like the local farm stands and Saturday markets. We have beef and pork products; herbal & handmade products; plants for home & garden; milk, eggs, jams & jellies available year round. We can also make you a gift certificate in any denomination.

Thanks for your orders last week! Please encourage your local friends and family to shop at our year-round market and support local farmers!

Blessings,
Linda

…a few notes…

My Daily Bread has their yummy offerings on the Market this week. Dabrielle and her son Brandon have created a Gluten Free Pumpkin Roll! This is an awesome treat! Order one today!

Our reduced selection of local veggies is due to Mother Nature’s lack of rain for crops to grow and flourish. It has been a difficult year for our Farmers and I ask your prayers them, (as well as for some much needed rain!)

Doug’s Garden has listed Sweet Potato Leaves. I purchased some last week and have tried them in a salad — yummy and sauteed in butter! This is a great option for greens!

Fry Farm has items listed on the Market this week. Please check out Vicky and Steve’s offerings! Vicky listed a great deal on Sweet Potatoes!

Pre-Orders for Holiday Meats! Hams, Turkeys, Turkey Breasts are all available from the Hutchins Family of Heritage Farm! These options will NOT be available for long and are only available as Pre-Orders! Don’t miss this great opportunity!

For those of you who order milk — Sam makes a 375 mile round trip to ensure that we have fresh milk. Our milk orders are down drastically from last year and this is becoming a burden to Sam. Financially it is not sustainable. In lieu losing this wonderful product and resource permanently, we are discussing going to an every other week delivery. Cows do not stop giving milk because our orders are down – consistency in ordering is important! I will keep you informed as news becomes available!

Doug’s Garden has listed Sweet Potato Leaves. Doug called and said he had heard that they are a delicious GREEN! (and goodness knows, we need some greens) He tried several ways of fixing them and has assured me that they are VERY similar to Spinach! I did order some this past week and as Doug said, they are very Spinach-like! I have eaten them in a salad as well as sauteed! Good option for greens!

Champaign, OH:  Monday Morning

Monday morning you look so fine…
(Monday Morning-Fleetwood Mac)

Okay!! Now this is shaping up to be a market that looks like our usual markets!! I love seeing all of the familiar names popping on with orders, and messages, and happiness to be back in the ordering mode, again!!

These are the little local market of love customers that we have grown to know, love, and feel like family, over the years. Welcome back to many of you! Hello, again, to the weekly loyals! Won’t you join us, to the ones who are still thinking about placing their first order, with us!

And, just to address a couple of things, feedback, and plans…

Yes, we are aware that we are still without dairy, without cheese. We are working on it, I promise!!!!! Dairy is not the easiest to make happen, but we are on the trails of three possibilities. We are sorry for the long spell of no dairy, but some things just happen, we knew we would be a somewhat of a loss with our dairy customers, but we also supported the mutual parting of ways with the former dairy. But, just so you know…we have not stopped working on this!!

Produce…yes, this past summer was the wackiest growing season for many produce items. Some producers were totally wiped out, or only producing enough to cover their family or a physical market. Yes, we felt the loss on that end, we tried to bring you as much as we could all bring, but you just cannot predict Mother Nature, even though I wish we could!!

We have seen the absence of some of our popular growers/producers!!

End Of The Road had a severe hit to their farm with the kind of growing season we had. They also took on the managing of the Miami County Virtual Market, and tried to keep their own farm CSA service going…with virtually no produce, this season. AND, they had their 4th baby!! Another little girl, just a few weeks ago!! Believe me…we miss them just as much as you do!!!

Women That Farm!! Again…another baby added to the family!! When last heard from, they needed to take a break to get caught up, have a baby, and finish out physical markets. They will be back, with the selections that you love, and even more variety to add!!

Other growers come and go, for various reasons…but, believe me, we work behind the scenes to stay in contact, coordinate, and regroup…

This market is family…we are always there for each other…

So, it’s Monday Morning…continue to give us your orders…the market is looking good, this week!!

Peace, Love, Good Vibes…
Cosmic Pam
