Elevate Fitness Co-op Spot is Moving!

No delivery to Elevate Fitness this week on Feb. 6th. Due to expansion, Jenn Pierson and the Elevate team are moving to a new location across from the Veteran’s Hospital at Bay Pines. We will start delivering there on Feb. 20th. All folks who have been picking up at Elevate Fitness are now offered either 1) an option to pick up in Historic Kenwood or 2) have home delivery until we can find a new drop spot. If YOU are interested in hosting a veggie drop spot at your home read all about it!, and then please contact Market Manager with any questions asap. We make it SO easy!

Next Market we will have a variety of pork sausages and bacon produced by a USDA inspected facility in Sarasota. Grower Jim Kuntzelman of Sunset Ranch in Dover who raises pastured hogs has been pursuing this opportunity for quite awhile and I am excited that our Market is going to benefit from his success at making it happen. More details next week.

Was hoping to surprise you with Hawaiian ginger and those lovely domestic Covington Yams that we sold for the Thanksgiving Holiday. But neither were delivered as expected. Our regrets and a promise to try again next time!

Once you have submitted your order, if in doubt about what you owe, you can always confirm what you have been charged for by checking your account history and viewing your most current invoice. Also, since your vegetables are picked fresh within 24 hours of delivery, they should be lasting for WEEKS in your refrigerator. When you accept delivery, please take a few minutes to inspect your order to protect your vegetables from unnecessary spoilage. Lastly, it is imperative that you understand our policy on Unclaimed Orders found on our Q&A page. When you make a purchase you are agreeing to abide by this policy.

Our Market has high standards for what it sells. Despite that—as seasons transition—the challenges of evolving weather and pesky insects can take its toll on the crops. Market Growers are being very selective about what they are willing to present to you. No, it won’t always be picture perfect (which is part of its charm) and sometimes an insect is going to evade capture! But we won’t send you anything that we wouldn’t eat ourselves. If for any reason we have goofed and you are dissatisfied, please report it to me right away so we can rectify the situation. That’s how we get better and we all benefit from that. Your satisfaction is key to our success as a resource for St. Petersburgs’ lovers of chemical-free, organically & locally grown vegetables.

Hello!

We have a new item in the Market this week. Fresh baked baguettes from Dozen bakery!
Dozen bakery is opening a storefront location, and now has an oven and the capacity to supply us with fresh bread on a weekly basis. In the coming weeks, look for whole wheat country loaves and a whole wheat sandwich bread. This week, we have Dozen’s artisan style fresh baguettes! Get yourself some cheese from The Bloomy Rind and have a wonderful feast!
Even if you have already placed an order, you can go back and order again.

We also have a nice selection of winter veggies still available – especially beets!

Princeton Farm Fresh:  The Market is Open


I will be continuing on with the series today of How to Start/Support Your Local Food Movement. This week I would like to touch on the notion of being a sales representative for your local farmers.
As we get new customers I often ask how they heard of us, and about 90% of the time it is by word of mouth. They heard it straight from YOU, our loyal customers. That just warms my heart! I will be getting new postcards soon and I would love it, if you could pass them out to your friends, family and acquaintances. This will help us grow our local foods movement. Of course we are always looking for new farmers too, and I would welcome the chance to talk to anyone that is growing or producing food in our local communities.
This Friday Ray and I will be celebrating 22 years of marriage. Hannah and Jonah have offered to run the market so that we can have dinner out. I know I am leaving you in their capable hands. See you on Friday,
