Champaign, OH:  Sing A Song

Sing
Sing a song
Sing out loud
Sing out strong
Sing of good things, not bad
Sing of happy, not sad
Sing
Sing a song
Make it simple
To last your whole life long
Don’t worry that it’s not good enough
For anyone else to hear
Sing
Sing a song…
(Sing A Song-The Carpenters)

This song has been playing in my head, today, because, well because, yesterday was so full of anxiety, unhappiness, and still anxiety, today, over the awful devastation of Gatlinburg. On top of the OSU violence.

I felt that if nothing else, if each of us just put a song in our heart, we could vibe love, and good thoughts, and prayers, and help…or just give out hugs. Or smiles, or high fives, or just a general love to blanket all of our souls.

This market has always been that little light of love in our local fabric. A place we shop, we support, we make our happy place.

Let’s continue with that vibe…we have the return of holiday favorites like with Elm Tree Essentials Christmas scents! We have candles in the same Christmas scents. We have gift sets from many vendors! We have it all…and we want to make your life happy, and easy, and carefree. Shopping with us will do that for you!!

Put a song in your heart, a smile on your face, and love in our local fabric…we shine the love right back!!

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

Conyers Locally Grown:  Available for Friday December 2

Hello, I hope this finds you all doing well the market is open and ready for orders.

I usually send this out Monday morning but yesterday I had to deliver pigs to the processor. That’s not hard or unusual but I awoke to pigs scattered about my place and spent 2-3 hrs getting things under control, good times!

And let me just say WOW, it’s December already. This year has flown by.

We will see you Friday between 5-7 at Copy Central to pick up.
Thank you,
Brady

Cape Locally Grown:  Featured Farm: Take %10 OFF

This week Laughing Stalk Farmstead is our featured farm. Take %10 off all of their products!

Here’s what they have to say…
Laughing Stalk is a small, diversified vegetable farm located in Cape Girardeau. We grow a variety of vegetable but especially like growing garlic and greens. Although we are not certified, we are committed to growing all of our produce using organic practices. We sell through Cape Locally Grown and at the Cape Riverfront Market during market season.

Currently we have Red Russian Kale, Green Curly Leaf Kale, spinach, and leeks available through Cape Locally Grown. We think fall is the best time to eat these vegetables because the light frost makes them sweeter and more tender. We love making soup with all of these vegetables and using the kale and spinach in smoothies every morning.

Order from us today!
Thank you,

Old99Farm Market:  Old 99 Farm, week of Nov 27 2016

We’re loading up the freezers at this time of year, as the pork, beef, lamb and poultry goes off to the butcher. This friday will have beef, though in limited quantity as most was pre-ordered. Next week is marked for pork, which is in greater supply as we had 5 animals in total. Turkeys will be week of Dec 5th, same for geese and duck.

The Hobbit House (hillside greenhouse) is getting outfitted with a wood stove and underground heating this week, which I hope will extend the season for tomatoes and eggplant. Both are still blooming and fruiting in there. The bonus of the design is we will have a seedling germination room that can double as a sauna! Any volunteers to help christen it?

Still the usual bounty of greens (lettuces, chards, beet tops, kale) and roots (onions, carrots, celeriac, potatoes, garlic) and peppers, eggplants and tomatoes.

Looking forward to seeing you. Do bring your special requests and suggestions.

Healthy eating

Coming Events

We thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible!

Princeton Farm Fresh:  The Market is Open

Sorry about the late opening. I am living the life of a rural farmer. We currently have a livestock guardian dog missing and we have been searching all morning for that dog. I feel like a horrible farmer when our dogs go missing. I suspect that something got too close to our sheep last night and our dog went to chase them off. So if you see a big white fluffy dog near Princeton or Eddyville, please give me a call and we will come and get him.
I have one more conference for the year with the Ky State Farm Bureau that I will be attending this week. Jonah will be in charge again on Thursday,
