The Spa City Co-op market is now open for ordering at spacity.locallygrown.net.

Please place your orders before Tuesday at 9 pm, and plan to pick up your orders at Emergent Arts on Friday August 5th from 3PM to 5:00PM, the earlier the better. If you’re unable to pick up your order at this time please make arrangements to have your order picked up for you.

Don’t forget – this market has no paid positions, so we NEED VOLUNTEERS to run every market. It’s fun, you get a $5 gift card, and you learn so much about local foods in Arkansas.

TUE & WED, AUG 2-3 – WATERMELON GLEANING WITH ENDHUNGER.ORG
Here’s a fun one! The national EndHunger campaign has asked us to help recruit volunteers for a “watermelon gleaning” in Millen, GA, this week. Come help harvest end-of-season watermelons, most of which will be donated to the Golden Harvest Food Bank in Augusta. Of course, volunteers can take a few melons home for themselves too! Hours are 9am-1pm and 4pm-7pm on Tuesday on the farm; Wednesday afternoon will be dedicated to distribution. Volunteers, please contact Sandi Newman at gleanga@endhunger.org to RSVP.

SAT, AUG 6 – VOLUNTEER WORK DAY AT ICEBOX URBAN FARM
Rise above this heat! Come sweat with us ALG and the good folks at Icebox Urban Farm as we get the campus ready for school group education visits this fall! 8am-1pm. We ALWAYS feed our volunteers healthy, beautiful food. Closed-toe shoes and water bottles are a must! Address is 1736 Fenwick Street. Please text Kim at 706-288-7895 for more information if needed.

TUES, AUG 9 – NATIONAL FARMERS MARKET WEEK, CELEBRATED AT THE VEGGIE TRUCK FARMERS MARKET!
Come get silly with us in celebration of this fabulous national movement. Tattoos and tshirt-give-aways are planned! Support the most feel-good farmers market in Augusta. And yes, we double EBT!!! Every Tuesday, 4:30pm-7pm, at 1850 Broad Street, Augusta.

Join with other local food activists, led by Georgia Organics, to make some real progress in our community together! Location TBA.

SAT, SEPT 24 – VOLUNTEER WORK DAY AT ICEBOX URBAN FARM AND THE HUNDREDS IN HARRISBURG PROJECT
There’s always something creative and fun to work on at this campus, dedicated to school group education. We’ll also be installing more free raised beds at individual homes in the community of Harrisburg! Join our volunteer groups from 9am-1pm. And yes! SUN, SEPT 25 — THREE FARM TOUR & PROGRESSIVE FARM DINNER
We’re very excited to announce another “Three Farm Tour & Progressive Farm Dinner!” This time our focus will be in the Aiken area, culminating with a dessert of goat cheese cheese cake at Trail Ridge Farm! Details are working themselves out now for the rest of the tour. In the meantime, save the date of Sunday, September 25, between 1p-5:30p. A limited 25 tickets will be available for sale starting next week for this very popular event.

SAT-SUN, OCT 28-29 – “HARVEST BYTES” – A FARM TO TABLE TECHNOLOGY EVENT
Join us as we partner with the Clubhou.se in downtown Augusta to explore ways in which sustainability and technology intersect to improve our local food system overall. Partake in an intellectually satisfying, gastronomically-elegant, farm-to-table meal created by the dynamic duo of Chef Charleen Tinley and Chef Jonathan Marks, formerly of the Roosters Beak. Learn about the intersection of microbes and wellness from speaker Dr. Steve Fountain. We’ll kick it all off with a competitive Good Food Hack-A-Thon the night before! Looking for sponsors now! Be a part of the thinking crowd … and eat well while doing it.

If something comes up that you cannot personally pick up your order today, please contact someone to pick up for you.

Remember to bring your EGGSHELLS, glass jars for recycling, egg cartons, and bags for ordered items. Reduce, reuse, recycle! See you this afternoon.

Come early for the best selection from the EXTRAS table! Even if you didn’t make an order, you can come by to shop the EXTRAS table.
