Market News

Hello!

We are here for all your tomato needs! Slicers for sandwiches, culls for cooking, 10 lb tomato cull special for you tomato sauce canners out there, and paste tomato ‘Juliet’ for salsa or oven roasting.

Now is peak season and time to order!
Also have a bit of blueberries left!

Please remember with all these delicious melons that occasionally you get one that is under ripe or over ripe, or off tasting. Please let us know and we will refund your money or replace it the next week. We try to get you only the best, but it is hard to know with melons sometimes!

You have until Tuesday evening to place your place your order!

We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday! Thank you so much for all your support!

NEWS AND NOTES

The vegetables are growing larger, and White City Produce & Greenhouses has added large zucchini, as well as a half-bushel of stringless bush bean “Malibu”. Tami delivered her first CSA basket last week, and it looked awesome! Look for a picture next week.

Solace Farm has added several garlic braids in different sizes. Congratulations to owners Caleb and Amy Rae, whose new son Ewan Nickinson was born on July 26, weighing 9lb 10oz. Check out the Solace Farm blog, store, and photo galleries at www.solacefarmhomestead.com .

We have lots of other delicious summer vegetables available: bush beans, beets, carrots, cucumbers, eggplant, garlic, arugula, kohlrabi, lettuce, onions, bell, jalapeno, and banana peppers, red potatoes, yellow squash, Swiss chard, several types of tomatoes, and zucchini. Also you will find a great selection of fresh-cut herbs to help to bring out the flavor of those vegetables and your other summer cooking.

Please notice that some vegetables are now available in larger size packages: cucumbers, red potatoes, assorted heirloom tomatoes, bell peppers, and a box of #2 canning tomatoes.

Remember that we also have delicious pork and beef cuts, rich creamline milk, organic free-range chicken and duck eggs, jams and jellies, live plants for your perennial border, porch, or patio. Please take note of our great selection of hand crafted farm products, candles, essential oils, and bath & beauty products. Stop by Square Books soon and see our market table, with lots of non-perishable farm products for sale. Pick up some jam or jelly, hand lotion or soap, herbal tea, a candle, or a basket of herb plants to enjoy or to give as a gift.

(L to R) Beans “Malibu” from White City Produce & Greenhouses, Garlic ‘Homestead’ from Frontier Family Farm, Open Range Chicken Eggs from Wayne Diller, Taller Red Carnation from Dogwood Valley Greenhouse, Freshcut Lemon Balm from Triple B Farms.
