Champaign, OH:  Exta, Extra, Read All About It!

Just a quick note to let you know that a most amazing article was written about our market from Brenda Burns of the Urbana Daily Citizen, AND, a weekly market customer!!

The article was such an amazing surprise, yesterday!! Most of the time, we will get interviewed by various publications, on the facts, figures, general workings of the market. Most of the time, the interviews are done by people who are not local, have no idea what we do, or the passion that goes into the everyday workings of this market.

Brenda did not interview. She wrote from her own experiences, as a customer.

It is an amazing promotion of the heart and soul that we all are/bring to this market!

If you do not get the paper, you can go to our Facebook page!! I put a picture of the article on for reading!!

Thank you, to all of you, who love our market, with locally loyalty and love…and, thank you to Brenda!!

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

Champaign, OH:  Sunday Vibes

So when I’m feelin’ all alone
I think of home and how you used to sing to me
?Que Sera, Sera? life goes on
Whatever’s meant to be will always be
And baby, what don’t kill you will make you strong
Just love the journey that you’re on…
(Pray For You-Sara Evans)

On this Sunday morning, I am enjoying coffee, and a visit with my lovely daughter who came to town, yesterday, and spent the night in her old room, in the home that she grew up in, since moving from Florida, when she was 5. She is now 24 years old.

When we moved to Champaign County, it was going to be a two year gig. Short little journey. We fell in love with the area, our home, and life in the country. She began her transition from beach life to Midwest life. A bumpy first year? Yes. A lot of tears? Yes. But then it became home, a place that we continued to grow and thrive in.

The years sped past, she was suddenly in high school, and we embraced those years at Graham with so much love. Then, it was college selection time, sorority rush time, studying in Italy time, college graduation time…and, I must gush over the fact that she graduated from my alma mater, and pledged my old sorority…proud, always.

Then, she moved on to Columbus to find her way, settle into two different amazing jobs that allowed her to explore her fashion journey that was her major.

She now is probably going to be making another break for it, and moving even further away. I know that by August, her strong willed ways will take her away. I hate it. I love it. Ugh…parenting.

We had an amazing visit, yesterday, and last night, and we talked about what I was doing at her age…drifting around California as a flight attendant, and part time trade show model, living on the edge. I raised her to be a strong woman, just as my grandmother instilled in me. Her whole life, I stood back, guiding, watching, hoping, nudging, hoping, and always there to catch the falls.

Growth, age, independence, strength, courage…it’s what every parent wants and hopes for as they raise these little kit kats. But then, they really do become that, you find out that you raised a strong young woman, and then it mocks you because while it makes you proud, it tears your heart out…in a good way, but you get the drift…

Anyway…what does this have to do with my weblog?

Growth, independence, pride…we have it all at this little local market of love. We offer it, weekly, to everyone. It makes us happy, it makes us so humbled by your love of what we all do, here, and while we all work our magic, each week, as vendors, I get the added bonus of the emotional side of things, as it grows, shows so much love, and so much hope…

The mother of the market, I suppose…and, just like the mother that I’ve always been with my daughter, I feel that I have helped give the market wings, courage, and encouragement…

The song lyrics that I chose are from a song that my daughter played for me, yesterday, telling me that when she has a bad day, she listens to this, and remembers me, our porch, my arms, my advice, and how I used to push her, for endless hours in her swing, in our backyard, singing Que Sera, Sera to her…

I can’t help it…I am a nurturing, loving, caring kind of mom…and this market is just another soul that I like to tend to…

The market welcomes your love, and your orders…

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

Happy Easter to One and All

This week we celebrate Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We wish that God Blesses you and yours. (and, yes, we are open and will be delivering on Friday)

Clover Creek Cheese Cellar

For this week’s video, we are featuring Clover Creek Cheese Cellar. They are one of our original fellow vendors. We have done farmers markets with them for the last 10 years, and Anthony is the current Market Manager for the Altoona Station Farmers Market.

They are currently sold out of their Tussey Mountain and Honduran Harvest cheeses, but just began making cheese again this week.
