Martin's Farmstand:  Open Labor day Weekend

Yes the farm stand is open this weekend. The farm stand is open Monday- Saturday from 10 am to 6 Pm. We are always closed on Sundays. Summer hours are planned to continue till Thanksgiving time. This time of the year the selection of local homegrown produce is at its full glory. Watermelon, cantaloupe, tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, and so much more. Onion harvest is about 3/4ths of the way done. There are still several kinds with green tops that need to mature a bit more. The crop looks to be about normal in both quality and volume. Get your storage onions Mid September- October. Fall raspberries are ripening. Let me know if you wish to u-pick. Also the grapes are almost ripe. I would prefer to sell at least some of them u-pick also. Daniel

Champaign, OH:  Thursday Gratitude!

Just a quick note to thank you, the customers, your other market manager, and my father, for all pulling together for a great market pick up!!

It allowed me to stay in the kitchen, working, on prep work for this weekend’s catering!!

I love the teamwork that I have instilled in everyone!

And, just a note…I am remaining on vacation mode until after….drumroll…. My daughter’s wedding, on the 18th!

So much to do, along with getting my staff organized, prep the menu, and then step aside to enjoy being mother of the bride!

I will still be managing the market, and will return, later in the month!!

Hugs and kisses….and, opening the market for the week!!

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

Please send an email to independencefarmersmarket@gmail.com
Thanks in advance!
A couple of bits of information, typical yearly online sales average $11,000. We are at $46,000 this year. Online sales during outdoor market season from May-July average $2,200, we are at $9,871.22. Thanks for making the Online Market what is by shopping with us!

The Cumming Harvest - Closed:  Labor Day Holiday Closure Sept. 4th, 2021

Happy Wednesday! As a reminder, the market is closed this weekend, September 4th, 2021 for the Labor Day holiday. We hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

We will reopen the market on Wednesday, Sept. 8th for the Saturday market on Sept. 11th. See you all then!

In the meantime, please enjoy these farm jokes:

1. How did the farmer fix a hole in his trousers? With a cabbage patch.
2. How do you fix a broken berry? With a strawberry patch!
3. Why did the farmer want to bury all of his money? To make the soil rich.
4. What part of a chicken is the most musical? The drumstick.
5. What do you get if a chicken lays an egg on top of a barn? An eggroll.
6. Why shouldn’t you tell secrets in a vegetable patch? Potatoes have eyes, the beans-talk and the corn have ears.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Thanks,
Angie Breindl
