Hi, everybody!

Don’t forget to place your order on Manchester Locally Grown market by this evening at 10 p.m. for delivery fresh from local farms on Thursday.

Remember that we are a year-round market, not subject to seasonal closings like the local farm stands. You will find special items here – honey, jellies & jams, herbal & handmade products, houseplants, & more – as well as winter vegetables, eggs, and baked goods. And gift certificates are available in any denomination. Give the gift of great local products! And this week the daffodil bouquets are here!!!

Pickup of your order will be at Square Books, 113 E. Main St, Manchester, from 3:00-4:30 on Thursday. We can also hold your order in the refrigerator till Friday morning, if that’s more convenient for you. Square Books will be open on Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Just make a note on your order, or text or call (931) 273-9708 if you prefer to utilize this free service.

Thanks for your orders last week! Please encourage your local friends and family to shop at our year-round market and support local farmers!

Blessings,
Linda

Market News

Hello!

It’s Monday night, after another beautiful spring day! We are so excited that warmer days are here!
There are still lots of good veggies available – beets, carrots, lettuces and kale! Also, have you tried the French turnips yet? Very mild and with a nice texture, they are great raw or roasted.
We are so lucky to be having such a great selection of vibrant, just picked produce this time of year!

If you haven’t done so, please take a look at our Market. You have until Tuesday evening to place your order!

As always, thanks so much for your support, and we look forward to seeing you Wednesday, March 4th!

Old99Farm Market:  Old 99 Farm, week of Mar 15, 2015

This is the week of the spring Solstice, Mar 21, daylight hours now over 12 hours, sunrise 7:30, sunset 7:26 today.

Some folks have been asking about pork for next year. I am getting three weaners again to grow up for meat in the fall. A side of pork typically yields about 4 ham roasts, 1 pkg side ribs, 12 loin chops, 12 sirloin/butt chops, 2 shoulder roasts (4lb each), 2 hocks, 12 lb sausage/ground and 8 lb bacon. I ask for a deposit when you place your order of $50. When butchering time approaches I’ll contact you for details on how you want the side dressed.

I had this comment about the beef liver recently: “Cooked some of your cow liver tonight and, to my surprise, it was superbly delicious and tender (never having had much success cooking liver in the past) – soaked it in milk for an hour before pan frying – yum.”
Based on that Cami and I had liver for the first time in a while. And I agree!

I’ll run the special on stewing hens and ground beef for one more week, then back to normal price.

Healthy eating,
Ian and Cami

Heirloom Living Market Hamilton Mill:  There is Still Time to Order..

Market Closes at 8:00pm Monday!

Thank you to those who have already placed orders!

In October we found it necessary to establish minimums for each Market. If the minimum is not met after Market close, you will receive an email letting you know that minimum for the Market was not met and you will be given a choice to pick up at the Lawrenceville location or cancellation of your order. We sincerely hope that this will not be the case; however, at the time of this writing the total for the Market is a little more than 1/2 of the required minimum of $650.

Please be assured that we are doing everything we can to provide you with what you want from the local Farmers/Growers and Producers; but, please understand that Buying Local means supporting those who are committed to providing ‘Local’! Please continue to share the Market with friends and family!

Check your Grocery List and get your orders in before 8:00pm this evening for delivery on Thursday!
