Steamed Brussels Sprouts

1 pound Brussels sprouts
1 tablespoon Butter (optional)
1 1/2 cups Water
Salt & Pepper to taste
Step by Step Instructions
- Rinse the Brussels sprouts with cold water and remove any discolored or overly loose leaves. Cut the tough stems away and cut the Brussels sprouts in half.
- Put the Brussels sprouts into a large pan and add just enough water to cover them. Add some salt, then cover the pan and bring it to a boil.
- Lower the heat and let the Brussels sprouts steam for 5 minutes
- If desired, toss the Brussels sprouts with butter, salt, and pepper before serving.
