Serves: 8 burgers
2 tablespoons Olive oil
1/2 of 1 medium sized Onion
4 cloves Garlic (minced)
2 pounds Ground turkey
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Pepper
1/2 cup Parsley (chopped)
1 tablespoon Fresh rosemary (minced)
1 tablespoon Fresh sage (minced)
2 teaspoons Fresh thyme (chopped)
Bread for serving
Bacon for topping (optional)
Lettuce for topping (optional)
Ketchup for topping (optional)
Mustard for topping (optional)
Pickles for topping (optional)
Tomatoes for topping (optional)
Onion slices for topping (optional)
Step by Step Instructions
- Saute the onion in olive oil over medium heat for about 3 minutes. Add the garlic and saute for 2 more minutes. Place them together in a bowl and let them cool.
- After the saute mixture has cooled, add the turkey, salt, pepper, parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme to the bowl. Mix with your hands until well combined. Shape the meat into patties with a small indentation in the middle.
- Using either a grill or skillet, cook the patties for 5 to 6 minutes on each side. If using a grill, first pre-heat the grill on high for 10 minutes and coat the grates with a small amount of vegetable oil. If using a skillet, put a small amount of oil in first to prevent the burgers from sticking.
- Serve the turkey burgers with toppings of choice.
