Lake Placid Online Farmer's Market: May Market Open!
Hello everyone,
Even though it’s still technically April, it’s time for the May Market ordering period!
We are excited to welcome Harmony Hills Farm back to the market. Based in Malone, they are offering whole chickens and eggs to Lake Placid customers. Here is more about them:
“We are committed to responsible, environmentally sound, sustainable farming. We use all natural methods to control pests, weeds, and erosion. Animals are raised in open pastures and on forested acreage, using feeding and grazing cycles that not only enhance the soil, air, and water quality, but also provides the animals the ability to engage in their natural behaviors. Pastures and animals are free from pesticides, herbicides, added growth hormones, steroids, animal-based bi-products, and antibiotic applications.”

If something comes up that you cannot personally pick up your order today, please contact someone to pick up for you.
Remember to bring your EGGSHELLS, glass jars for recycling, egg cartons, and bags for ordered items. Reduce, reuse, recycle! See you this afternoon.

The market is back up and running for orders to be picked up May 6th!
A couple of reminders…
*May 6th will be Farm to Table dinner hosted by the Independence Farmers Market! Visit blueridgediscoverycenter.org and follow the links to order your ticket now! *
*Also, there is only a couple more weeks before the on-line market shuts down and the out-door market opens May 13th! *
Be sure and get those orders in for Mothers’ Day! There are some gorgeous flower baskets for the special lady in your life!

What nice weather! The vegetables are starting to come in and the market is getting busier. We have new growers for the season, so you have more options than ever before. We also have new customers each week, making it especially important to order early. You can place a quick order today to secure the items that might be in short supply, and then you can place additional orders between now and Wednesday at noon.

Want something special for next week? Consider a made-to-order loaf of Multigrain Bread, English Breakfast Toasting Bread or a half-dozen Jumbo Pretzel Rolls. All of these breads are made from scratch on market day.

As promised Doug has more halibut on the market! He wasn’t expecting it to sell out in a matter of hours a few weeks ago so he’s stocking us up one last time before he heads to Alaska.
