Middle Tennessee Locally Grown:  Time to Order Fresh Local Farm Products!

Manchester Locally Grown market

We always have a few new farmers, waiting their turn to join our market and offer their wonderful products to all our customers. In order to add more farmers, we feel it would be best to grow our customer base a bit. We want to be able to offer you and your friends some new local farm products.

The farmers and market managers would really appreciate your efforts to help spread the word about our fantastic market. What a great local resource for fresh, local farm products. Please pick up a few business cards to hand out to your friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Advertising is very expensive, and we want to use our slim market funds in a responsible manner.

Farm News of the Week

Flying S Farm has added more spring vegetables (and friends):

(L to R) Radishes “Champion” and “French Breakfast”; and “Beginners’ Eggs”.

Well… not exactly… Terresa Hill writes:
Terra Hills will be down next week… My 80 yo mother will be having shoulder surgery Tuesday, so I will be out of state & unable to process orders.

From Molly Cornelison of Kountry Vittles:
I will be starting back on the market this week slowly with my Ultimate Strawberry cake, Fresh Strawberry pie and I have also added Strawberry muffins. I’m sorry I have been away for the last couple of weeks but it’s taking me a bit to get back into my routine after my Stroke. I promise to get back up to normal routine soon. I thought I would start out the week in Strawberries since its Strawberry picking time and I love to pick strawberries.

Micro-greens from Frontier Family Farm this week include:

(L to R) Dwarf snow peas, turnips, radish ‘Daikon’.

CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us.
