March 20th, 2013 – Special Items this Week

Dear Market Customer,

This was another awesome week at The Market. Please read through all the many offerings we have for you this week, including our best-selling produce boxes, and other items that are normally pre-buy but this week are available for immediate pick-up.

A Quick but Important Reminder:

When you order from this market and commit to picking up and paying for your order, we pay for your goods in advance to growers and bulk sellers. We had a few instances where some members placed orders but did not show up to pay or pick-up, leaving us in the red on those orders.

Please be sure you will be able to pick-up your items when you place an order. If you have an emergency and cannot come, please cancel your order by Monday and let all the growers of your order goods know.

After one missed pick-up without any notification, your account will be required to have a credit card on file.

Produce Boxes Pick-Up Date Change

We had to move the produce boxes delivery date for April 5th. It was unfortunate that we didn’t get enough orders to fulfill this order last week, because these boxes are loaded with great all Certified Organic produce, and are a great buy.

Please don’t wait until the last minute and order your produce box for pick-up April 5th now.

Some of the variety produce you will get:

onions * potatoes * tomatoes * garlic * two or three varieties of greens (kale, chard, spinach) * berries * potatoes * broccoli * cabbage * lettuce * apples * carrots * bananas * pears * mushrooms * beets * celery * plums

Please pay for your produce boxes when you place your order online with your credit card or mail a check to Rancho Alegre Farm at 2225 Givens Road, Dacula, GA 30019. Payment for this item is due immediately after order.

You will also be able to get plenty of farm fresh duck and chicken eggs from local farmers. Check out the eggs here, what a treat!

Another real treat is the kombucha we have available for purchase this week. This is a rare find at local markets and many claim great health benefits from this fermented drink. Get kombucha here.

Also available for immediate pick-up, this week we have a very limited amount of awesome Green Pasture products as follows:

4 bottles of Butter Oil / Cod Liver Oil Blend – Cinnamon
3 bottles of High Vitamin Butter Oil

Membership Meeting
The members of the co-op came together to host a meeting. We talked about the history of the co-op and started to envision a road map forward that we hope to release to everyone in the future as a well put together plan of action you can help volunteer to see happen. Some big ideas placed forward is in a years time having over 100 growers and hundreds of local products. Multiple pick up locations, Times, and days throughout both Pasco and Pinellas. A farmers market feeling at the Habitat store where we will have more hang out sessions and free education for the community to begin learning how to grow their own food. More outreach to the community about our co-op and how they can get involved. Later down the road 2-3 years out we can imagine getting our own retail location or farm growing food directly for our membership. What can you envision the co-op moving forward growing into? Please share your vision with us and participate by becoming a member today.

In the News
Our Co-op was mentioned in both the Suncoast News and the New Port Richey Patch. Check out the articles and share with your friends and family. Get inspired by positive things happening in your community and come participate in its creation this co-op is brought to us by our community of members.

Plattsburgh Online Ordering:  Spinach, salad greens, and eggs

We will have our regular end of month online ordering next week, but in the meantime we have gorgeous spinach and mild and tangy salad greens available. We also have fresh eggs and some that I have held back for three weeks for hard boiling (older eggs peel better). I will be in Plattsburgh Friday morning so can deliver if you’d like these this week (or you can pick up at Rehoboth Homestead). We have some sun right now that is warming up the hoophouse, and hopefully the sun will peak out a bit tomorrow too.

Next week we’ll have the regular online ordering with Asgaard, Parker, and Rehoboth Homestead. For this week, please just email me with what you’d like and how we can make connections.

Thank you, and enjoy!

Russellville Community Market:  Important Information for Market Pick-up

Hello all!

Just a quick announcement about the market pickup this week. Due to scheduling conflicts, RCM’s market pickup will be in the smaller conference room to the right of Shoemaker Hall (the normal pickup place). We will try to have someone directing traffic to the conference room, and I’ll also put up an RCM sign in front of the correct door. This will be in effect for this week (3/21) AND next week (3/28). By the way, just for the sake of clearing up any confusion. The conference room is still at All Saints. Same location, just different room!

We thank you for helping us with this little change, and after the aforementioned weeks, the market will return to its normal pickup location in Shoemaker Hall.

Thank you all very much for your time and we look forward to seeing you on Thursday in the All Saints conference room.
