Market News

Orders dropped off a bit last week, which we suspect is in preparation for your Spring Break trips. We will take this week off, and Reopen For Ordering on Thursday, March 14-Monday, March 18. Enjoy your travels, wherever they may lead!

We thank you for registering at Clemson Locally Grown Please encourage your friends, family, and co-workers to join you.

Clemson Locally Grown donates 3 percent of our order profits to Clemson Montessori School, in return for use of their school parking lot as a drop-off location. We also appreciate the helpful hands of CMS market volunteers. Feel free to lend your hands, if you have a moment to do so.

Donna’s Corner

We at Upstate Locally Grown strive to find you the freshest, greenest, and most alive foods available anywhere! They are picked fresh for you at the very peak of their ripeness, cooled, and shuttled to you in our little white veggie-van, always in coolers to preserve the vibrancy, crispness, and nutrition. We are what we eat, and we produce live cells from living foods!

The milk that we bring to you is from the latest and freshest batch, the greens were in the field earlier that day, and the eggs are always freshly laid! What more can you ask, than for the grower to go out and pick/pull, gather, and harvest just for you, and send it quickly on to your kitchen?

Please tell your friends about us, and ask them to mention that you sent us. You will receive 10% off your order when your friend writes a note on their order that you sent them!

We appreciate Clemson Montessori School for allowing us to host our drop-off in their shady parking lot!

Last Days to Order Mother Earth Meats

Dear market customer,

Mother Earth Meats is one of the most HUMANE and trust-worthy meat sources we’ve ever found, and you have an opportunity to get on this bulk-buy through this market and stock up on your favorite, healthy meat cuts at very reasonable prices.

The deadline to order Mother Earth Meats in March 15th, so please order now!

So many logistics come into play when we do a bulk buy of this kind. If at all possible, please don’t wait until the last minute to order and go ahead and fill out your order form now. It will greatly help us deliver the absolute best and timely service to you!

Mother Earth Meats provides pastured, grass-fed, hormone, antibiotic and cruelty-free:

  • beef
  • bison
  • elk

  • goat
  • lamb
  • chicken

  • turkey
  • duck
  • pork

They also offer other products like raw milk cheese, organ meats, bones for broth/stock and traditional cooking fats, all of excellent quality.

Here are some interesting facts about Mother Earth Meats:

  • There is NO sales tax or added delivery fee!
  • There are no nitrates or MSG in the uncooked sausages, fresh bacon or seasoned bacon.
  • Mother Earth Meats does not add any kind of salt or chemical washes to their meats, nor do they use gases to sterilize it.
  • Mother Earth Meats does not use any fertilizers at the farm, other than their own manure and homemade compost.
  • The chickens and turkeys are pastured/free-range and are given a limited amount of non-GMO feed which does include corn/soy.
  • Pork lard is already rendered and pork fat is not; the same is true for beef lard and fat (however, you can easily render it yourself in the oven).

Raw Buttermilk

This week you can order raw buttermilk from The Market. It is said that raw buttermilk has great benefits for your skin, and this one is labeled for skin use, as hand lotion.

This vendor has great quality dairy, and as always, The Market is simply a means for you to access these products and does not control any of the products offered or how they are packaged.

Egg Inventory Adjustment

The egg inventory has been adjusted on The Market and, if you are patient, you will get plenty of eggs this year! As spring comes and days are longer, chickens will begin to produce a lot more.

We also now have a source of duck eggs! You can order duck eggs at The Market now.

Looking for a Source of Local Produce

As many of you know, Brady Bala from Double B is still recovering from his accident, and will be offering his veggies in about a month or so. I am in search of a veggie vendor at the moment to fulfill the demand, so stay tuned, and if you know any prospects, please send them our way!
