Cedar Grove Farm:  Quality Control

Dear friends and neighbors,

We take quality control seriously at Cedar Grove Farm. When we found the last of our potatoes showing an unacceptable level of spots we decided to pull them out this week. So, no more potatoes and refunds for everyone who ordered them. Good news is we are digging up three different varieties of some fine looking sweet potatoes that will be available next week.

Regards, Jay

Champaign, OH:  Good Vibrations!

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears..
And on the way this sunlight plays upon her hair…
I hear the sound of a gentle word…
On the wind that lifts her perfume through the air…
I’m pickin’ up good vibrations..
(Beach Boys – Good Vibrations)

So, this market is ALL about the good vibrations!! The vendors, the customers, the sales, the YMCA…we all just vibe really well, and it totally shows!!

Yesterday, a friend of mine, who has been a friend of mine forever, Bill, posed a question to all of his music crazed friends, on Facebook. He asked, if we looked back in the history of rock and roll, what would we change on the face of that history. It has been so interesting reading the responses!

Anyway, the main vibe from that whole conversation was that we all have a music vibe, or a whatever vibe. There is something, in all of us, that stirs a passion, that makes us ecstatic, that opens us up and takes us on a new journey.

This song, Good Vibrations, just spoke to me, this evening, after closing the market. To some, The Beach Boys are all powdery, sugar sweet, Top 40. But, if you listen to very early Beach Boys, you find a different tone, like they had hoped to go down one path of music before they got packaged into the mainstream.

Good vibrations…we all have them, we all get them from whatever moves us, drives us, we all have different meanings, like in music tastes, but we all end up at the same point.

Good vibrations…the market, the season, the people…we all work on it, together, for the best vibes around!

This little local market gets it’s good vibrations, weekly. This week, as I open the market, I am excited to bring you a new vendor!!

Volk Fruit Farm!!!! Amazing and delicious fall apples!!!! They are a local fruit farm, they supply Dorothy Lane Market, and tonight, we welcome them to our market!!!

Apples, Autumn, Amazing market of all vendors, this little local market of love….Good Vibrations!

Have an amazing week, get to know our market, our vendors, and start your own good vibrations!

Peace and Love,
Cosmic Pam

CSA Farmers Market:  Tortilla Chip Surprise

Thank you to John for the added treat to the customers bags, they got extra chips to try!

John Simmons gets excited about each new flavor of tortilla chips he makes. He often wants to share his excitement so he shares bags of chips randomly to current customers or to people who have never tried his chips.
During this last order cycle all those that placed an order for his chips received two free bags of chips, flavors that they probably have not tried yet. I would sure love to see the smile on their face when they realize the bonus.
John gave me some chips to share with Jim and Pat Graham. When I was at their farm serious faced Jim, tired from a long day of working while tending to a minor wound was presented with John’s Chips; a big smile came across his face.
Maybe in your next order John will be generous and give a free bag of chips.

Until Next Time
