Republican Valley Produce:  The market is open...

Things are really starting to take off at our farm. We have over 600 tomatoes growing, and 360 lettuce plugs started. On Thursday, I will be starting kales, broccoli, cauliflower and kolharbi. Next week we will start peppers and much more. We will probably need to increase our grow lights!

We have also started direct seeding crops. The first planting of carrots has already been planted.

With the weather coming in this weekend and the beginning of next week, it will be interesting.

The market will be open til 10:00 pm on Saturday, with delivery on Tuesday (if the weather allows it).

Thanks,

Jay

The Cumming Harvest - Closed:  Newsletter - February 25, 2015

Doug’s Wild Alaska Salmon

The Cumming Harvest sells sustainably fished Sockeye Salmon direct to you from Bristol Bay, Alaska….

We get our Salmon from Doug’s Wild Alaska Salmon, which is family owned and operated with three generations of Alaskan fisherman spanning a 30 year period….

Based in South Carolina, Doug’s Wild Alaska Salmon makes fresh-frozen salmon available locally in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida.

Being the fisherman, we can provide you with the highest quality flash-frozen wild salmon. Dougswild is owned and operated by the Resetarits family, Grandpa Dan is a South Carolina resident who flies north each summer to join the boys for the harvest. Dad Doug, a part time Carolinian, is a 30 year Homer, Alaska native, a licensed Coast Guard captain and former Bering Sea crabber of “Deadliest Catch” fame. All four boy’s began fishing salmon with Dad when they were 10, and together operate four, 32 foot fishing boats during June and July. Bristol Bay is the largest wild “red salmon” or sockeye salmon fishery in the world. Certified sustainable, natural, and robust, the Alaska salmon fisheries are known worldwide as a model of successful fisheries management and economic prosperity.

As the fishermen, we are blessed to experience the beauty of Alaska during the renowned Bristol Bay fishing season, to participate in the native culture, and to work long hours side-by-side. Demand continues to increase for wild salmon and omega 3 rich diets, we are proud to make our fish available.
Sincerely,
The Resetarits Family

LINE a 13×9×2-inch baking pan with Reynolds Wrap Release Non-Stick Foil with non-stick (dull) side toward food. Combine honey, mustard, butter, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper; set aside.

RINSE any ice glaze from frozen Alaska Salmon under cold water; pat dry with paper towel. Place salmon portions in center of foil-lined pan. Arrange asparagus around salmon. Sprinkle with walnuts; drizzle with reserved sauce.

BAKE 26 to 30 minutes for frozen salmon OR 20 to 22 minutes for fresh/thawed fish. Cook just until fish is opaque throughout.
