Joyful Noise Acres Farm:  The on-line market is open for ordering.

The robins have been scouring the yard for bugs and worms, the peach tree has a few open blossoms, the daffodils have struggled to open their frozen blooms and I am preparing the beds to receive the seeds of spring vegetables. Ahh, spring, can hardly stand waiting. What plans are you making for warmer days?

The market is open for ordering and there is plenty of good stuff to order from. We have gotten lamb and beef bones in the freezer. Think about the greens in your yard that can be chopped and put into a light winter soup full of nourishing minerals and vitamins.

The baked goods selection has something for everyone, chocolate, gluten free, decadent, healthy – ohh my waistline!

Don’t forget to look at the Personal care items for your soaps, shampoos, lotions, etc. Once you start using pure items on your hair and skin, you will not want to go back to commercial. These items are organic with no harsh chemicals.

Get your orders in and see you Wednesday.
Blessings,
Mary Beth

Republican Valley Produce:  The market is open, but the tank is running on "E"

We are quickly running out of produce and that is ok with me. It is time to get started on this years plantings. With a beautiful 8 day forecast, I am really getting excited for this season. We have 1 case of onions, 1800-2000 plants coming next week and then 2 cases the week after that. Everyone will be planted by hand with care. It is all in a days work. We have a good start with tomatoes, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower so far and we will be starting 360-400 peppers this weekend along with many other crops. If possible, I will be moving some seedlings out to the high tunnels to start hardening off and to make room for the next batch of seedlings to get started.

The market is open, but I am all out of lettuce and the kale needs a few weeks to grow. We do have a decent supply of Collard greens, spinach and green onions along with root vegetables.

Have a great week. Orders are due by Saturday at 10:00pm.

Champaign, OH:  Enough, Already!

I know that I speak for all of us when I say…please just take these freezing cold days and give us some rays of sunshine, some warm breezes, and a hint of spring like weather…haven’t we had enough??

Apparently not since I am sitting here trying to get warm in layers of clothing and a glass of wine.

Well, until we get through this, let our little local market of love warm you up, light your fire, be your ray of sun!

I am opening the market, tonight, take the next few days to think about what you need, what you want, and how we can make that happen for you in the best way we know how…

Have a great evening!

Peace and Love,
Cosmic Pam

Jonesborough Locally Grown:  Our new marquee!

Next time you are at the store—(perhaps tomorrow for apple bread pudding or homemade garden pizza!)—be sure to look up and see our wonderful new chalkboards! A big thank you to Store Manager Matt Dobson for the construction and hanging-up of the boards, and to Misty Dempsey for lending her artistic and design talents!

We chose chalkboards so we have the ability to change our message seasonally, and you will see we plan to continue our “know your farmer” theme with a place to feature a farmer. Here’s a preview:
