Dawson Local Harvest:  Breakfast Sausage, Cherry Tomatoes, Last Call for Lettuce!

Dawson Local Harvest for June 17th

Breakfast Sausage, Cherry Tomatoes, and Last Call for Lettuce.

HI EVERYONE!

We mentioned FIVE HENS FARMS last week and they’re in the news again. First off, their very tasty Pork Breakfast Sausage is back in stock. It’s very good and goes pretty fast, so don’t dally if you’re interested. Secondly they have some dated Ham for sale at just $3.00 a pound. They consider this Ham to be for pet consumption because it’s been packaged for a year, but it’s vacuum-sealed and was good last week. Might be a way to get a great deal, or give it to your pets and make them very happy.

LEILANI’S has their first-of-the-season organic-standard Mixed Cherry Tomatoes coming in. Could be 4 pints, could be 6, we’ll fill all the orders we can. This will also be the last week for Lettuce this season, so get it while you can, it’ll be a while for the fresh stuff again. Other New Choices besides the Cherry Tomatoes are young, tender baby Cabbages, Broccoli, Cauliflower, wonderfully tart Onions, Baby Carrots, and Golden and Scarlet Beets, and several other veggies still on the Menu.

More Fresh Wild-caught Georgia White Shrimp straight from the docks of Darien, Ga. will be available from TOM’S AWESOMW SHRIMP. That’s great eatin’!

THE MARKET WILL OPEN Sunday night at 8pm!

REMEMBER! You can order until Tuesday night at 9 pm. Pick up your order at Leilani’s Gardens Friday afternoons from 4 to 7pm.

You’ll find the DAWSON LOCAL HARVEST at http://dawsonville.locallygrown.net

We thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible! We guarantee your satisfaction with all products in the DAWSON LOCAL HARVEST.

Have a happy and healthy week!

ALFN Local Food Club:  Market Is Open

Don’t let the demons of noon captivate your heart. The ALFN market is no mirage, no empty promise. Here in the digital wasteland, in the cyber-desert we call the internet, ALFN’s market is a tangible, rooted representation. Yes, those pictures of tomatoes, blackberries, squash, goat soap and beef are real. The internet waves of confusion do not rise up into this market. Everything you see is real, tasty, and made from non-cyborg people living in Arkansas. Come join our online oasis.

UPDATES

Last week we had some wonderful products come through the market. From mixed bouquets of flowers to handmade soap to fresh peaches and blackberries, the market was buzzing with the signs of early summer. We made our first order for bulk dry grains. For those of you who ordered over the past three weeks, look for an email indicating when you can pick up your order in late June. I will put dry goods back up for selection in a couple of weeks. Don’t forget we have rice mixes and corn products (grits, cornmeal) from local producers in the grain section of the market!!

Take care,
