The Cumming Harvest - Closed:  This week on The Cumming Harvest

This Week

Market opens at 10AM

Doug’s Wild Alaskan Salmon is back at the market, this time with honey brine smoked salmon and halibut, as well as our favorites, 5-lb portions, 5-lb fillets, and salmon burgers.

A&A Alta Cucina will be making the monthly delivery this week, so make sure to shop their balsamic vinegars reductions, infused and dipping extra virgin olive oils, tomato sauces, pestos and balsamic jams. Check out their newest product, Vidalia Balsamic Jam; it won the Good Food Awards in January and it’s also a finalist for the Flavor of Georgia 2018. Try some and see what the fuss is about!

Do you need a gift for someone special? A&A Alta Cucina has some amazing gift baskets for sale, including the “Georgia On My Mind” Gourmet Gift Set, the “Oil & Vinegar Crate Gift Set,” the “Olive Oil Sampler Set” and more. Look under the “Gift Bags & Box Sets” category to see what’s available.

Cultured Traditions is back this week with their famous garlic dill pickles and other inventive krauts and ferments.

This is the last weekend to place a White Oak Pastures order for March. The order will be placed on March 19 and be ready for pickup on March 31. Place your order for pastured chicken, pork and sausage at the market or email Amber at whiteoakpasturesorder@gmail.com or Jennifer at thecummingharvest@gmail.com

Finally, for those of you who are up to the eating local challenge, try to plan one meal this week sourcing ingredients from The Cumming Harvest. For me, I think I’ll make a soup. . . And I’d love to hear what meals you come up with! If you’d like to share, please send recipes and pictures to thecummingharvest@gmail.com.

GFM :  Fooled You Didn't I ?

Yep, Mother Nature fooled us again. Thoughts of Spring were dancing through my head.

She even had me thinking I could rush right out and plant a huge garden.

And Today, yea, she had me excited, thinking “I might get to go sledding after all”

Yea, Thanks Lady. We are confused enough without out all this, Spring, Winter, Spring, Winter…watch them run…lol

Miami County Locally Grown:  We're OPEN for orders with Stillhouse Maple Syrup!!!

Welcome to our newest vendor, Indian Creek Distillery of New Carlisle,
who joins us with their Stillhouse Maple Syrup!

Aged in their used whiskey barrels, this Ohio maple syrup with a touch of Staley rye whiskey is unforgettable…

When the Distillery hosted the Locavore Dinner in 2015, each guest had the privilege of taking home their own bottle of the Stillhouse Maple Syrup, after lacing their apple pie with it!

Talk about an incredible experience – their Syrup made that apple pie so memorable, I can taste it almost 3 years later.

Whether you try one of our new products, or stick with a tried and true fave,
the market is now open for your orders!

Have you seen the new Herb Mix appropriately named “Your Mother’s Elderberry Syrup” kit from McGuffey Herb and Spice Co?

Bair-Trax Dairy is running a Special on their organically fed eggs again this week –
snatch them up while you can!

And you’ve got to love the Weekly Specials from Jeanne’s Garden – I was blown away when I saw for my own eyes her truly expansive gardens, where she grows so much of the fruits and veggies for her baked goods! That’s taking Local baking to the extreme!

You can’t go wrong with a Cherry Pie that was homemade locally, with local cherries,
AND is on sale :-)

Lake Placid Online Farmer's Market:  Reminder - Order by tonight at 10 pm

Just a reminder, ordering closes at 10 pm tonight, so if you were interested in ordering, now is the time!

Siloam Springs, AR:  Online Market is Open!

www.siloamsprings.locallygrown.net

Last week steering committee members and I began visiting farms in preparation for approving the farmer/vendor applications for 2018! We are truly excited about those who will be returning as well as a few new additions. Watch out Facebook page as we begin introducing this year’s vendors.

Produce is making a comeback and sells out quickly, but if the inventory is low today please check back tomorrow. With the farmers out in the field more right now sometimes they update inventory a little later than normal.

Enjoy the week and see you Saturday!

McColloms Market:  Reminder - March FFFN Order is Open Until Tonight
